ManagementEd Walsh – CEOEd Walsh is Chief Executive Officer of Storwize and a member of the Board of Directors. As CEO, Walsh leads a worldwide executive team responsible for all facets of the company's global operations including corporate and product strategy, engineering, finance, sales, marketing, and support. Walsh brings more than 20 years of industry experience with demonstrated leadership in both startup and public companies. Walsh served as CEO at Avamar Technologies, Inc., a venture-backed software firm acquired by EMC in late 2006. At Avamar, he established the company as the leader in the first wave of data deduplication software leading it to 700% revenue growth. Since Avamar, Walsh has served as VP and GM of EMC's Information Management software group and most recently as the CEO of Virtual Iron, a leader in the server virtualization space. Previous to Avamar, Walsh was senior vice president of sales, marketing and alliances for CNT, a publicly-traded storage networking company. There he re-aligned the company's channel and go-to-market strategy leading CNT to record growth. CNT was acquired by McData Corporation in 2005. Walsh received his bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Gal Naor – Co-founder & PresidentGal Naor is a co-founder of Storwize, president, and a member of the Board of Directors. Naor founded Storwize in 2004, along with Jonathan Amit, with a vision to radically change the economics of storage. From that vision Naor has overseen Storwize's growth and emergence as the technology and market leader in online data reduction solutions with a rich patent portfolio and hundreds of customer deployments across six continents. As president, Naor focuses on corporate and product strategy, as well as strategic alliances. Prior to joining Storwize, Naor was an executive at ECtel (NASDAQ: ECTX) where he was based in Singapore. Prior to ECtel, Naor spent 14 years in the intelligence community. Naor studied Law and Finance at the Interdisciplinary Center. Mary Henry – Chief Financial OfficerMary Henry is the Chief Financial Officer of Storwize. In her role, Henry is responsible for the finance, operation and administration of the company. Henry's prior experience includes CFO for Virtual Iron Software and most recently Vice President of Finance with Oracle Corporation with responsibility for the integration of Virtual Iron into Oracle. In addition, Henry was a co-founder and Vice President of Finance for Ucentric Systems. She also worked as a member of the start-up team for the cable access division for 3Com. Her background also includes corporate reporting, SEC reporting, planning and accounting management while in various roles for U.S. Robotics and Caremark Corporation. Her career began in the audit practice of the accounting firm, Grant Thornton LLP. Henry received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She is a Certified Public Accountant. Jonathan Amit – Co-Founder & Chief Technology OfficerJonathan Amit is a co-founder of Storwize and the Chief Technology Officer. He is responsible for the design and architectural development of Storwize's groundbreaking real-time, random access compression technology. Jonathan is a leading expert in IP networking, storage protocols, data structures and real time applications. He has done extensive research in the areas of data manipulation for faster I/O and improved compression ratios, and has filed numerous patents. Ori Bauer – Vice President, EngineeringOri Bauer joined Storwize in 2008 as Vice President of Engineering. In his role, Bauer is responsible for all aspects of Storwize's product development and delivery. Bauer brings more than 15 years of executive experience in software development and a strong track record of building successful products. Prior to joining Storwize Bauer served as Director of R&D at Carestream Health (formerly the Eastman Kodak Health Group) where he led the R&D group responsible for the Image Management and Information Systems products (PACS). Bauer joined Eastman Kodak Health Group through the acquisition of Algotec Systems where he managed the research and development teams. Bauer holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Economics and MBA. Steve Kenniston – Vice President of Technology StrategySteve Kenniston came to Storwize as the Vice President of Technology Strategy where he is responsible for driving strategic initiatives with respect to the Storwize storage optimization technology. An industry leader in storage technology, Steve most recently served as the key technology consultant to the CTO of EMC's Storage Software Group. A respected technology thought leader and spokesperson on next generation storage technologies, including file systems, data protection, networking, the virtual data center of tomorrow as well as cloud strategies, Steve has worked with hundreds of customers/partners implementing storage architectures, delivered countless presentations within the industry and has written extensively on storage technology (see his blog: www.thestoragealchemist.com). Steve's ability to define storage technology vision and effective go-to-market strategies have led to dramatic revenue growth and key acquisitions for companies that he has worked with during his career. . His roles have included VP Corporate Development for Avamar Technologies, Senior Corporate Strategist for Iron Mountain/Connected Corporation, Storage Technology Analyst for Enterprise Storage Group and Director of Technical Support for Veritas Software. Steve graduated from the University of Maine with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Roger Cummings – Vice President, Worldwide SalesRoger Cummings joins Storwize as their Vice President of Worldwide Sales and brings over twenty years of experience in building worldwide sales and operational strategies and helping companies achieve target revenues and profitability through sales, strategic relationships, enabling technologies, and development of new business units. Cummings has been responsible for leading organizations in developing business-to-business and channel development partnerships and directing sales, business development, alliances, go-to-market planning, and venture capital relations. Prior to joining Storwize, Cummings held senior positions at a number of emerging companies including: Infobright, RevStor, Sanvoi Technologies, Archivas, ApplQ, and Tellisoft. Cummings has led many of these start-up companies through successful acquisitions by corporations such as HDS, IBM, and HP. He has worked in various technology markets including: storage and storage area networking, file management, business continuity, SaaS, Ecommerce, and enterprise infrastructure applications. Cummings holds a BS in Marketing, BS in Management from Loras College, Dubuque, IA. He is the creator of the Loras College Opportunity Scholarship Fund. Gareth Taube - Vice President, MarketingGareth Taube is responsible for the company’s marketing strategy and execution. Mr. Taube has over 20 years of successful high technology marketing and management experience having been the CMO for five successful early stage companies, two of which became public companies. He has created successful brands for companies in the storage, software tools, applications, and services markets, and has a track record of creating sustainable revenue growth through strong marketing execution. Prior to joining Storwize, Mr. Taube ran Market Recognition; a marketing consulting firm specializing in developing market strategies for VC funded early stage companies. Previously, he was an SVP at Emulex, where he ran the IP Storage Networking Group. He was also SVP of sales and marketing at Giganet, an early stage storage company from its founding until its acquisition by Emulex. Mr. Taube was also CMO and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Seque Software, Peritus Software Services, and Praxis International. Prior to that Mr. Taube was a Global Corporate Sales Manager at Digital Equipment Corporation. Mr. Taube holds a BS and MS from City University of New York. |
